When calling relatives and connections:

“Hi, (name)”

“This is (worker's name) with (agency's name) calling about (youth's first name), who is in foster care. I’m collecting photographs, family stories, quotes from family members, information about family traditions, and personal items, that will help (youth’s first name) feel more secure and safeguard precious memories during their time in foster care.

Are you able to share or provide any of these items?

When calling current and past placements in foster care:

“Hi, (name)”

“This is (worker's name) with (agency's name) calling about (youth's first name) who was [or is] placed in your home for foster care [If you know the time frame add this as well]. I’m collecting photographs, family stories, quotes from family members, information about family traditions that (youth's first name) enjoyed, and any personal items that they might have left behind. These will help (youth’s first name) feel more secure and safeguard precious memories during their time in foster care by being a great addition to their lifebook.

Are you able to share or provide any of these items?

[ If they don't know what Lifebooks are educated them!]
